με τούτη την άνοιξη εξ ακανθών
με τις νεκρώσιμες ανθοστήλες

ιερουργεί στο πεζοδρόμιο
επικαλέω τοι την θεόν Μύλιττα
αυτός δεν ήταν ο πατέρας μου
ίσως ήταν ο πλανόδιος φωτογράφος
της εθνικής γιορτής
που έκρυβε στην τσέπη του την τράπουλα
με τις 52 πορνικές ασκήσεις
και τις 4 έξτρα στάσεις αιδοιολειχίας

είναι η γλύπτρια της νέας προτομής μου
μελέτησα μου λέει την ακτινογραφία του κρανίου σου
έχουμε σοβαρά προβλήματα ιστορικής συνέχειας
πρέπει επειγόντως ν’ ανατάξουμε
τα ζυγωματικά σου

poems or, the cat o' nine tails

poems

to define the vastness of the snow
with four strokes of a pencil
to confine thousands of crystal deer
within grave-looking walls
surely it’s not advisable
to converse with a clock
its adherence to the rules of punctuation
deadens my word untimely
and a wall is always a wall
(we shouldn’t ignore the obvious)
yet if we demolish it
what shall we plant on its roots
our nature abhors the vacuum
nocturnal phantoms may come
and squat in the empty space
the alphabet reversed
the cat o’ nine tails
and the lame cobbler
who makes only left boots
with unlimited sexual arrogance
will seduce our women

don’t you ask random questions
questions are pregnant amoebae
questions multiply and divide incessantly
three heads for the one cut
ten heads for the one burnt
the birth of an answer breeds another question
demanding justification
nasciturus pro jam nato habetur
its share of death
as the wise raw man said
answers are eternal additions and subtractions
looming behind marble sepulchers
leaving only darkness in their inverse wake
traumata with countless solutions and none

on the stroke of twelve came the surveyor

as usual and

as expected

despite that

we had neglected

to sweep the blood off the stairhead

the hatstand in the hallway

exposed to the argus-eyed mirror

was trying to hide its guilt

under four hats

the fox-terrier panic-stricken

followed us at heel

howling lord have mercy

be that as it may at the last moment

we managed to push the winds pell mell

into the wardrobe of the bedroom

thus conjuring an illusion of calm

the spacious drawing-room

locked in its past post-mortem

smelt of kavafis

egyptian tobacco

and the myopic eyeglasses on the table

had corrupted the ethos of the books

in the presence of all concerned

the bailiff laid his hands on a treatise

octavo size

entitled mons veneris

he leafed through it salivating glosses

in the margins of the pages

a.  aphrodite on the frontispiece

     raising a white flag

b.  pretty woman

     pretty pretty woman

c.  your two breasts

     resemble twin cubs of deer

     feeding among lilies
