the sky is leaking at the seams
polluted rain
polluted birdsong
the steeples go skyscraping
the belfries go tickling the god’s nostrils
the sun is travelling light 
with a toothbrush
this is the truth
said mr basil joyce

the sky is leaking at the seams
you see that morning dog
licking the sunlight off the pavement
you see the morning sunrays
caressing the dogshite on the pavement
that’s the essence of life in a nutshell
